About Us: Ignitec is a product design, research, and technology consultancy based in Bradley Stoke, North Bristol. We specialise in prototyping and developing exciting new concepts in the IoT, defence, aerospace and scientific sectors. We are recruiting for a Junior Electronic Design Engineer to join our cross-disciplinary design and research team. Our projects involve developing early-stage proof of concepts, technical demonstrators, right through to market-ready products. You will collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to integrate electronic hardware with other systems, working in a fast-paced and innovative consultancy environment.
Job Description: We are seeking a talented Junior Electronic Design Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or an engineer with 1-2 years of experience to grow their career and work on diverse and challenging projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and development of electronic circuits and systems for defence, aerospace, and IoT applications.
- Support the prototype development process, including hands-on assembly and testing.
- Assist in the development of custom firmware and software for unique applications.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to troubleshoot and refine electronic designs.
- Participate in client meetings to understand project requirements and provide technical input.
- Contribute to the creation of detailed technical documentation and reports.
- Assist in overseeing the manufacturing process to ensure high-quality production.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Altium or other PCB design software
- Schematic design
- Designing PCB layouts
- Digital circuit design
- Analog circuit design
- Experience with LTSpice or other simulation tools
- Proficiency in C/C++
- Manual soldering and rework
- Strong maths and physics knowledge
- Good debugging skills
- Prototype build, test, evaluation, and debug
Preferred Skills:
- Python
- Experience with STM32 and ESP32 microcontrollers
- C#
